Giving a playful facelift to New York’s favorite cookies.
If you know New York cookies, you know Eleni’s. Known for their decorative conversation cookies, Eleni’s decided to expand their offerings to everyday, anytime cookie classics. The client had already introduced an initial package design for one flavor into the market, and turned to us to update, refresh it and develop a look for subsequent additional flavors.
Our challenge was that we had to stick to the existing dieline and finish plates. We love challenges, saving our clients money and making them happy so, of course, we updated the package within those parameters.
We made sure the new design did not lose any of the brand recognition the previous packages may have already garnered. We used this as an opportunity to develop a unified brand aesthetic and tighten the information hierarchy so that call-outs were easy to grasp quickly and the 4-flavors in the line worked together on their own to be impactful as well as a family together.
Sometimes you are craving just a taste. Eleni’s also wanted us to design a grab and go unit, featuring 2-cookies. We extended the established look and feel of the line to these packages and added a metallic finish to increase the impact at the POP.
Following on the success of the Retail Boxes, the client was receiving a lot of requests for gift boxes for different occasions. The primary challenge for us was to create a system that would speak to the myriad of occasions and holidays while remaining evergreen enough so that it would not be an operational feat to order and store all the various options. With that in mind, we designed a gift-sleeve system, featuring 4 main designs, one for each flavor with custom designed taglines for the different occasions. This both simplified and streamlined the operations and created the desired custom and premium look that the client was looking for.
